2024 English Book Report Competition Award Ceremony

United Prime Educational Publishing (UPEP) successfully concluded its English Book Report Competition with an award ceremony held on 30 November 2024. We are pleased to announce that 78 primary and secondary schools participated, with nearly 700 students engage. This competition aims to enhance English writing skills among Senior Primary and Junior Secondary students, incorporated innovative EdTech solutions to assist participants in book selection and report writing.

The award ceremony, hosted at UPEP’s Quarry Bay office, welcomed over 70 award recipients and their families. Distinguished guests presenting the awards included:

  • Mr. Ignatius LEE, Managing Director of UPEP
  • Mr. YEUNG Wing Ming, Former Principal of Po Leung Kuk Camões Tan Siu Lin Primary School
  • Dr. MA King Wing, Nephrologist and Founder of DM Reading Club
  • Ms. Fanny CHIU, Senior Trade Sales Manager of Scholastic Hong Kong Limited
Over 70 students and their parents attended the award ceremony for the UPEP English Book Report Competition on 30 November 2024.
Trophies and certificates were given to all the winners and our honored guests on the event day.

Mr. Ignatius LEE, Managing Director of UPEP, opened the ceremony with a heartfelt speech, thanking the adjudicators and recognising the great support from schools, students and parents. The distinguished adjudicators, Mr. YEUNG Wing Ming, Former Principal of Po Leung Kuk Camões Tan Siu Lin Primary School, and Dr. MA King Wing, Nephrologist and Founder of DM Reading Club, shared their experiences from the judging process and encouraged students to continue pursuing their passion for reading and writing.

The English Book Report Competition was organized by UPEP, with Scholastic as the co-organizer and Inspired Learning as the sponsor. This collaboration shows the commitment of all parties to promoting English literacy among students in Hong Kong. We look forward to nurturing more young readers, encouraging them to continue their reading habits and enjoy their creativity in writing, showcasing their talents in English in the future.
