2025 English Book Report Competition Awards Ceremony
The 2025 English Book Report Competition Awards Ceremony, organized by United Prime Educational Publishing (UPEP), was successfully held on 13 December 2025. This year’s competition attracted participation from 165 kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools, with over 2,000 students registering. The purpose of the competition is to integrate educational technology to guide students in selecting suitable reading materials while enhancing their writing skills and vocabulary usage.
The awards ceremony took place at the The Grand assembly hall, The Salisbury – YMCA of Hong Kong, with over 100 awardees and their families, school representatives attending the event. The distinguished guests included:
- Mr. Ignatius LEE, Managing Director of United Prime Educational Publishing
- Dr. CHEUNG Kwok Wah, Former Dean of Education and Languages, Hong Kong Metropolitan University
- Dr. MA King Wing, Nephrologist and Founder of the DM Reading Club
The ceremony began with a welcome speech delivered by Mr. Ignatius LEE, Managing Director of UPEP. He extended a warm greeting to the guests, teachers, students, and parents present. Following the opening remarks, the competition judges, Dr. CHEUNG Kwok Wah and Dr. MA King Wing, shared their insights and reflections on the judging process. They encouraged students to continue cultivating a passion for reading, honing their writing abilities, and striving for excellence.

The 2025 English Book Report Competition Awards Ceremony was organized by UPEP and have Scholastic, an educational organization specializing in English children’s book publishing, as the co-organiser. This collaboration underscores the shared vision of promoting English proficiency among Hong Kong students through reading. We hope all students will continue to foster their creativity and imagination, showcasing their English writing talents as they embark on their academic journeys.
